Gembira Loka Zoo is a zoo located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta on the island of Java, Indonesia. Gembira Loka Zoo opened in 1956 and consists of a botanical garden, orchid nursery, artificial lake, children's park, various bridges across the Gajahwong River, and a collection of around 470 animals, the most famous of which are the komodo, dragon, orangutan, gibbons, and hippos.
