Hi
@Danielle,
If you have an iPhone, I'd suggest going with the iCloud plan.
iCloud can help you manage and optimises the storage on your phone automatically.
You wouldn't need to worry about your device storage space and, all of your photos will be available on both the cloud as well as your iPhone.
When you have subscribed with iCloud, go to your
Settings -> Tap on your name (Apple ID) -> then tap on
iCloud and make sure you have the following settings ticked:
Depending on your preference, you might want to copy my settings too, just make sure your settings are the same with mine.
The main thing here is to make sure that
Photos sync is ON, as well as
Optimise iPhone Storage is ticked, and it will start to reconsolidate your photos.
Your Google Photos should be reconsolidated too as soon as the iCloud finish its job, for your information, in iOS (i.e. iPhone & iPad) iCloud does the job automatically and seamlessly, while Google Photos needs a manual user intervention (i.e. to sync, etc)
Feel free to reply or post more if you have other questions.
Cheers
